Jesse is on the enrichment faculty of the Colorado Suzuki Institute (teaching double bass and podcasting) and has served on the faculty of the Music Institute of Chicago. In 2017 he won the Byron Hester Outstanding Faculty Member Award. His articles have been published in the Journal of the International Society of Bassists.

Jesse has also served on the faculty of the Genesis at the Crossroad Summer Institute (specializing in peacebuilding journalism). 

He has been invited to participate in panel presentations and as a guest speaker at Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia and Universidad EAFIT in Medellín, Colombia.
